Who we are
Homecare Supplies is an independently owned, family run home improvement centre with massive showrooms in Valley Street, Darlington, County Durham.
We are proud to offer our customers amazing discounts on leading brands from across the home improvement industry. We supply Fitted Kitchens, Fitted Bedroom furniture, Bathrooms and En-suite Shower rooms, Multifuel Stoves and Woodburners, Gas and Electric Fires and Fireplaces, Rangemaster Range Cookers, Smeg and NEFF Kitchen Appliances.
Homecare Supplies first started in 1972 in a small shop in Borough Road, Darlington selling domestic central heating and plumbing solutions to the Trade and Retail.
In 1974 the company moved to it’s current premises in Valley Street Darlington where we have grown over the past four decades to become one of the largest independent home improvement centres locally. We cover Darlington, Northallerton, Thirsk, Ripon and Harrogate, Middlesborough, Stockton, Redcar and Hartlepool, Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor, Crook, Durham, Tyne and Wear, The Dales, Teesside, North Yorkshire and everywhere in between.
In 1975 Homecare opened its first dedicated bathroom showroom which has grown into the Company’s largest department and currently displays approximately 50 bathrooms, including en suites, wet rooms and shower enclosures in all the latest designs from leading manufacturers such as Heritage, Vitra and Laufen contemporary bathrooms, BC Designs, Bayswater Traditional Bathrooms, Waters freestanding baths, Aqata Shower Enclosures, Roper Rhodes, Kudos Enclosures, Vado, Vogue towel warmers, Brison bathrooms plus many more.
We offer a complete Bathroom design service where a member of our Bathroom team will visit your home to measure up your bathroom, then using our computer aided design software create a design for your new bathroom in full colour and perspective. We can then advise you on selecting the most ideal product to suit your bathroom, budget and taste.
In 1980 we opened a small Fireplace showroom which has now grown into one of the largest selections of Gas and Electric Fires and Fireplaces in the region. The showroom offers a vast selection of traditional and contemporary real wood veneer, solid timber, cast iron, limestone and marble fireplaces to suit all tastes and budgets. In addition it offers a stunning range of all the latest gas and electric inset, freestanding and wall mounted fires on the market. We are currently one of the leading Valor Centres, Dimplex Display and Demonstrate centres, Evonic Fires and Gazco Fires in the country and display the majority of these manufacturer’s products, in addition we are an approved Elgin and Hall fireplaces retailer.
In 1997 Homecare expanded into kitchen appliances specialising in built in ovens and large range cookers from leading manufacturers such as Rangemaster, Falcon, Smeg and NEFF.
Today our Appliance department houses one of the largest Rangemaster Design Centre in the North East of England and we have nearly every Rangemaster product on display including, range cookers, splashbacks, cooker hoods, sinks and taps, all at amazing prices.
In December 2004 Homecare nearly doubled the size of its showrooms and warehousing with the construction of a fifty foot wide, three storey extension to our building. This tripled the size of our warehouse facility and added even more choice to both our Fireplace and Bathroom departments.
In 2009 we doubled our Multifuel and Woodburner Stoves Showroom and now have over 70 gas, electric, multifuel and woodburning stoves on display from many of the UK and Europe’s leading manufacturers such as, Aga, Broseley, Dunsley, Hunter, Parkray, Dimplex, Gazco, Stovax, Dovre and Yeoman to name a few. Many of our stoves are in fireplace settings with working models to give you the best idea of how one of these beautiful stoves would look and feel in your own home.
In 2016 we started an extensive refurbishment programme starting with our electric fireplace showroom and introducing wonderful new products from Evonic and Gazco from here we moved down to our Stove and Woodburner showroom on our ground floor and installed many more complete fireplace settings from Penman and Cast Tec with Limestone surrounds, fireplace chambers and working stoves.
In summer / autumn 2017 we launched our fitted bedroom furniture showroom on our second floor and introduced our very own range of Brison Bedrooms to our portfolio. One of our Fitted Bedroom Wardrobe designers can visit your home and measure up your room and provide you with a CAD design of your future bedroom. Don’t worry if your room is not standard or requires a certain size or shape wardrobe, all our wardrobes are bespoke and made to measure but don’t cost the earth.
In the Autumn of 2017 we refurbished our three remaining rooms in our Gas fireplace showroom welcoming new limestone and marble fireplaces from Gazco, Elgin and Hall and Brison fireplaces. And last but not least our biggest project of the year was the creation and launch of our Fitted Kitchen showroom at the end of 2017 bringing in Second Nature Classic and Modern Kitchens with solid surface Strata Quartz and Granite Worktops and Abode Sinks and Taps.
Since then we have rapidly grown our Kitchen department to include many of the market leaders in Kitchens from brands such as Kitchen Stori, On Trend Kitchens, Bella by BA Kitchens, and our very own range of Brison Kitchens.
Don’t worry if you require a certain sized door or you have an unusual shaped kitchen, all our Kitchens are bespoke, made to measure but do not cost the earth and if you are looking for something unusual or very individual we offer over 100 different carcass finishes, a seemingly endless amount of door styles and a paint to order service where you can literally bring in a colour sample and we can create your dream kitchen in that colour.
